Our coaches recognize that your goal for your child isn't just chess. They aim to make sessions focus on what actually matters: the skills your child carries with them beyond the chessboard. The chess development will absolutely happen, but we differentiate in understanding both the How and Why.

The coaches we look for aren't just chess players, but people who have used their love for chess to go beyond. Whether that's teaching chess previously, starting a club, or using the skills gained from chess as a launching point in their careers, the core is the same: a passion for the game that has taken them beyond just playing. We hope to share that same love for the game with you and your child.

Your child isn't truly learning if they aren't also having fun. Chess instruction only works with coaches who are able to make chess interesting, not just another class. Coaches are trained to draw the balance between engagement and study, ensuring your child develops their skills in a sustainable way.

Gone are the days of chess lessons being held on one app, the board on another, training on a third or fourth platform, and payments running simultaneously on all. Moveo is designed to be a singular, integrated solution where all components collaborate to take your child from their chess roots and help them grow into a tournament player.

This is not a classroom that assigns the same work to every kid. Moveo training dynamically adjusts in difficulty to remain at a state that constantly engages and challenges your child. The problems given are also determined by your lesson plan, reinforcing concepts that were covered in prior sessions while introducing topics aimed at future sessions.

Your child's training results are tracked, so you can see real numbers behind their progress in the Parent Portal. Your child is assessed using the Glicko-2 standard, a modern statistical approach ideal for assessing both new and fast-growing players. These insights aren't just for you. They're also given to our coaches, so they can see where your child's strengths and weaknesses lie and shape the next session's plan accordingly.

Learning is not designed to shoehorn your child into a specific way of thinking. Our belief is in letting the child's own natural curiosity drive the lesson, not the other way around. Coaches are guides, not drivers.

Moveo draws inspiration from Lev Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development. We believe in constantly providing your child a challenge, but one they're able to overcome with the support of a More Knowledgeable Other. This is where the Moveo coaches come in, acting as scaffolding that slowly distances itself as your child gains confidence in a concept, until mastery is attained.

Learning is most impactful when a child is able to discover concepts on their own, rather than being told they exist. Moveo lessons are designed around giving your child fresh scenarios that allow them to self-discover new ideas and patterns. The Online Portal also allows room for self-discovery, used not only for reinforcing past material but for providing challenge problems that highlight concepts and systems that may not have been taught yet, feeding your child's natural curiosity until the next session.
